Well, I ripped another page
off of the schedule and am over a month through my mission. This week was
awesome. We keep talking about things that happened a month ago and it seems
like a week ago. Our teacher who usually teaches in the morning is gone with
her husband for vacation so we have a sub this week. His name is Johnny. Johnny
is so awesome. He served in my mission 6 years ago and has some CRAZY stories.
On Johnnys mission (mcallen), a guy came up behind him and his companion and
put a gun to their head. He pulled the trigger twice and the gun wouldn't go
off. The man got super mad and then tried to shoot again, but this time into a
field, and the gun went off. This man realized that these missionaries must
have been men of god because the gun would not function when pointed at them,
SO HE GOT BAPTIZED. guess where he is now? The provo mtc headed on his mission
to Chile. To say the least Johnny is a beast. While at the CCM, i have
heard from three people who have served there. One person witnessed a public
hanging, one a decapitation, and now johnny, who had someone try to kill him.
Keep me in your prayers please (you probably think that's a joke but it's not
lol) Murdoch and I made friends with a latino district this week and right when
I met them they told me my accent was muy bueno. That made me so hyped. A
family from the city came in and Murdoch, Mahler, and I taught them. Both the
mom and dad were crying and they had two of the cutest little kids. They said
our Spanish wasn't perfect but that the spirit did all of the talking. It was
awesome. Even though I moved on from piano to guitar I still managed to bring
out my old skills and I'm teaching elder Murdoch how to play so he can play in
sacrament on our last week here. Best news of the week is that ELDER CLIFFORD
IS HERE. ALL THREE WEEM TEAM FOUNDERS IN MEXICO CITY LETS GOOOO. #Legendary .
I'll leave it at that because I don't think it gets any better. A few days ago
I was saying to my companions, "look at us, in Mexico city, reading our
scriptures, with zero worries in the world. The weather is wonderdul, and we
get to focus on the important things. Don't have to worry about school, music,
drama back home, or who Donald Trump offends next. Instead, we get to be happy,
and think about things that really matter." Not only that, but some of my
best friends are here. Here, you look around, and you will ALWAYS see someone
smiling. This is no exaggeration - and no wonder.
