Week 63 - September 23, 2019

The Hey! This week was good!
Elder Kacher the 70 came and that was super good. He emphasized member missionary work a lot. A whole stake wards boundaries got changed so Elder Johnson and I have to make proposals for the areas and then he can decide what happens.

Transfers are next Monday also so that's gonna be crazy. it’ss been a super fast 6 months here in the office and I think that I'm probably going to go somewhere else so that's gonna be crazy. Kinda anxious to see what's gonna happen but the mission is good and I'm thankful to be here.

We set two baptismal dates with Arely and Martin for the 13th of October. I feel super good about them! The Salinas family that almost got baptized a month ago came to church again on Sunday and It looks like they're back in the picture also. We found some super cool people last night - and it was a lady who almost got baptized like 10 years ago and her mom. They seemed super interested again and we're pretty excited about that. Also, the legend Agapito gave him a Book of Mormon and the next day his Book of Mormon looked like it had been pretty well used and we asked him if he read any and he was like "OH BASTANTE" which means "OH A LOT". That was awesome. he's a good guy and we're going to try to bring over some members to help fellowship him better to help him progress.

We came up to Corpus Christi today and we're gonna do an exchange with the elders here in Robstown and Corpus so that'll be fun. Gonna go take a look at the beach today while we have a little bit left of pday :). Hope everything is good back home!!! love you guys!

Week 63 - September 17, 2019

Hey! This week was great! Hope you are all well back home! Where to start. We had stake conference and they're changing all of the ward boundaries within the stake here. We met with President Salmond the stake president here and talked about how that would work with the proselyting areas that we have here in the mission. That'll be super interesting. Even a ward got disassembled.

With the work, things are going well. We found some new cool people who seem to actually have desires to get closer to God and change. These people are Michael (an 11 year old kid from a part member family), Jose and Antonia, and the Hinojosa Fam. They're doing well! The Garzas are doing well but couldn't make it to church on Sunday. I still have high hopes for them and I have faith that they're going to be baptized soon. (hopefully the 29th). Elder Kacher, a 70 is coming today and he is going to meet with Elder Johnson and I. Kind of nerve racking but it will be good:)

Last night Cynthia (someone who were teaching) invited us to a party which was a great opportunity to meet her family members. It was lit, tacos, tons of candy, a big old piñata , and lots of family members. She's already being a great member missionary. Hopefully she can be baptized before I leave here!

Hope all is well. We keep going. Shout out to GARFFIELD123. Making big moves.

Love you guys so much and I appreciate you. Hope you're all doing well and if there's anything I can do please email me!

Week 62 - September 9, 2019

Hey! how's it going! This week was good! Hope everything is going well back home, time just keeps going and things are going well over here! This week was good, we had MLC and talked about Emergency preparedness so this week we spent some time creating an evacuation plan for the mission and all of the good things with that this week.. so we presented on that. This next week a 70 is going to be coming to the mission. With people that we're teaching, we set a baptismal date with the Garza family for the 22nd of September and we had a super bomb lesson with them. The unfortunate thing is that they couldn't make it to church on Sunday so their date will be pushed back but I still feel like things will go good. They gave us some super good carne asada and gave us sweet bread and stuff so it was a great lesson! We'll see where it goes. I have been here for almost 5.5 months so I probably won't have too much more time here in this area left! It's been super sweet! Praying for miracles here!

Love you guys!

Week 61 - September 2, 2019

Hey everyone. this week really did fly again. A lot of things definitely happened but it was good. One fun thing was that Elder Johnson and I picked up and took the Ocampos kids to school for half of the week this week because they were away at zone conference. That was kinda fun. They have really cool kids. I also went on an exchange with elder Abo from American Fork. He's a super good guy and that was cool. This week, we really have just continued to find and drop. One of the families i'm most excited about is the Garza family. They're literally from Brigham City and moved down here. What are the chances that happens? And they're Catholic. We taught them the plan of salvation a few nights ago and the mom expressed her desire to be baptized again. that was a super good sign and were going to try to help them develop their testimonies in the gospel and hopefully extend baptismal dates soon! MLC is this week and then in a few weeks we're having a 70 come visit the mission which should be really cool.

lil spiritual thought:

I read this and really liked it.

"Righteousness and perfection are not synonymous. While perfection is an outcome, righteousness is a pattern of faith and repentance which we choose every day. If perfection is a destination, then our covenants are our passport and righteousness is the steps on the journey. If this is our perspective on perfection, we can hope in good things to come as we patiently and persistently develop righteous patterns."

Have a good week!

I love my family and all of my friends! thank you guys for being there for me.

Week 60 - August 27, 2019

FIRST OFF. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GREATEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET - MY MOTHER. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME.
47 Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
48 And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.

I wouldnt be here if it werent for you.

This week flew. Blinked and gone. Biggest thing on my mind is the fact that Andrew and Ben finished their first week in the field with me. So crazy! With people we're teaching I feel like we're in the process of seeing where the people that we're teaching are gonna go - whether they will progress or we will drop them but the Garzas were so excited about getting Books of Mormon they asked us to sign theirs hahaha. Jose Morales and Maria are doing good but didn't come to church this last week so we'll see what happens! Cynthia is doing good, she literally bought elder Johnson and I new ties and shoes. she, sister briones, and her little son Samuel all pitched in for us. so cool. we had transfers last week. some new missionaries left their bags at the mission office so we made a special trip up to Corpus Christi this week hahah. Twas a good week. the mission is tiring too but mostly lit. Hope you're all well!

Week 86 - March 23, 2020 "Wild Week!"

Hey! This week took a wild turn! So the corona virus is starting to get here to my mission (I think there are like 8 people with it) and ...
