Week 8 - August 20, 2018

This week. To put it into words, hmm. I don't think I can. Somewhere in between "my head hurts" and "I want to do this for the rest of my life". The mission is a roller coaster. To fill you in, Daniel, one of our people with a baptismal date, disappeared. But, Jesus is still progressing and hopefully will be baptized on the 25th! He told us that he wants to be baptized this Saturday - but he needs his mom's permission. So, hopefully it will go through! He came to church yesterday and loved it. After church he asked us, "when im a member of the church, can i still watch dragon ball z?" I was laughing so hard and he was so excited he could still watch it. Also, his mom is also looking into being baptized! The members here go HARD with feeding the missionaries. Yesterday we were eating at a members house and as I was eating I literally wanted to cry because it was so much food. In latino culture, it's super disrespectful not to eat their food. That's every flipping day I'm not kidding. It's a blessing but when I come home, I might have a physical testimony of how much the members feed you - it's called a fat stomach. Just kidding I'm trying my best to eat healthy when I can hahaha. If I got a dollar for how many flat tires I had this week I I'd have ten dollars. This was so annoying. But, last night, it all came together. My bike had so many flats we locked them up and just went around on foot in a certain neighborhood. Well, during that time we Set a baptismal date for September 1st with another man who is awesome and he has a big family. He said that they would be interested in taking lessons also! We also set a baptismal date with someone else last night for the 8th of September but he goes to Mexico a lot so it will take some planning to make it happen, but he's super interested. There is nothing better when you're teaching someone, you can feel the spirit, and tears are welling up in the eyes of the people you're teaching. Moments like that make everything- including the bad, so worth it. Moral of the story: God's gonna put some flat tires on our path of life, not because he wants to annoy us but because sometimes, he has better plans for us! At first, I saw these flat tires as problems, but looking back, they were huge blessings! If something goes wrong, there is a better plan for us to come. Remember that.  But I hope everyone is doing great and please email me! I miss all of you and want to hear from you!

Hasta La semana, y estoy agradecido por ustedes.

Con Amor,

Elder freedman

Week 86 - March 23, 2020 "Wild Week!"

Hey! This week took a wild turn! So the corona virus is starting to get here to my mission (I think there are like 8 people with it) and ...
