Let's say this week started
off as a huge finding game. First for people, but secondly FAMILY HISTORY. I
have fallen in love. I just learned how this week but I have 139 names to send
to the temple. I never thought i would like this but its so fun - matter of
fact i think im going to do some during my pday today. We got dropped by a lot
of people because I was so sick last week. I remember we biked the entire day
on Tuesday in the blazing heat and being so frustrated. I remember just riding
up a hill and being like "man this is super hard out here!" The
mission is so awesome, but id be lying if i said the mission was easy. It's a
different kind of hard - but it's an awesome learning experience and so far has
been so worth it. We found two twins and their boyfriends and they want to be
baptized! We have taught them twice and the two twins accepted a baptismal date
for the 15th! BUT it turns out one of the girls doesnt speak super good spanish
so we had to turn them over to the english speaking sisters! We were so
disappointed. My comp and i were struggling and were not getting along super
well and so I literally just told him how I felt, and he was like
"okay." He was so cool about it and We are getting on awesome now. I
think the mission is going to teach me how to deal with girls after the mission
quite honestly. Something about girls i learned on the mission - I always
wondered why girls served for a year and a half and boys two years. Im going to
swallow some pride and say it. They literally are 2x less dumb than boys and do
everything in the mission right. They dont need the extra time honestly.
Something that my comp and I do here is talk MAD smack to the teenagers that we
can sauce them up in a game of basketball. Back home, my friends know i suck
and quit bball in 2nd grade but here, im taller than like everyone so its
awesome. The other night i swatted a kid soooo hard and everyone was just like
daaaaaang. It was super weird because im actually so bad at basketball but
these kids were treating me like a God. Anyways, we actually got a lesson
through it with a big family. We'll see where it goes. GUESS WHAT! Jesus got
permission from his mom to be baptized on the 22nd of September! Finally!!! We
invited their family to a ward party and then the next day to a baptismal
service and I think they liked it a lot, and right after the baptism we pulled
them all in a room. Elder Beuttenmuller went HARD and like basically expressed
how important baptism is. I shared a scripture in matthew 19 verse 29 and just
told them if she makes this sacrifice and lets him get baptized, theyll see
blessings pour. His mom gave us permission to baptize him and we just went
craaaaaazy and Jesus was so happy he could get baptized. Well, it turns out his
sister was like "okay after Jesus I think I'm next" and his
brother, and mom have desires to be baptized also, but his mom says Jesus will
go first and HOPEFULLY they will follow. Everyone please keep their entire
family in your prayers. With your guys help we could baptize their entire
family next month! We really need your help because this is in gods hands.
Other than that, we have just continued finding and we are going to continue
working hard. We know there are prepared people out there! I miss you guys a
lot and I hope you're doing awesome. Please email me and fill me in on your
lives! I'd love to hear!
